The Boy Detective started as a recording project between two friends to sing ska-punk songs about their kids and wives and to get out of the house a few times a month. Nic Good (guitar, vocals, eating) and Benny Capaul (vocals, embalming) worked this way on and off for two years until deciding to get serious a few months before Covid shut everything down.

Edson Freeman
EDSON FREEMAN approaches mysteries with a pragmatist’s toolkit. Since the early 1990’s he’s earned his living in information technology, tracing hard‑nosed causes behind cryptic error codes. For most of that time he was a card‑carrying skeptic—fond of UFO stories and fringe topics as a kid, but convinced adulthood demanded firmer footing. Then a cascade of high profile leaks, disclosures and discoveries nudged him to re‑examine the “out there.”
The result is Strange Light: Personal Accounts of UFOs, NDEs, and Other Enduring Mysteries, a debut that invites readers to weigh the evidence for themselves.
Freeman grew up under Ohio skies, migrated to North Carolina in 2010, and can often be found stargazing, trading campfire theories, or hunting down the next story that refuses to fit the spreadsheet.
